Sussex Search And Rescue Appoint New Patron.
We are extremely proud to announce the appointment of Sussex Police, Chief Constable Jo Shiner as the new patron of our charity.
In a statement the SusSAR trustees said “We are delighted that the Sussex Police, Chief Constable Jo Shiner has accepted our offer to become the Team’s Patron. Jo’s passion for the work of volunteers and her professional knowledge of the SAR role make her the perfect choice. We are really looking forward to working with her to help develop the Team’s capabilities and we hope to see her out with the Team, on the ground and the on water, as soon as conditions allow”
Following the announcement at the AGM on Thurs 14th January, In a statement Jo said “I am delighted, privileged and humbled to be the Patron of Sussex Search and Rescue. I am immensely grateful to all of the volunteers who give up their own time to save the lives of others. The commitment shown by these heroes to search for vulnerable people both day and night, and in all weather, is extraordinary. I am extremely grateful for their time and dedication. “
