Swift Water Training
The SusSAR water rescue team have this weekend been practising their swift water rescue skills on the river Dart in the Dart valley, Dartmoor.
These skills include being able to effect a rescue in fast flowing water using a number of techniques from using an inflatable boat (sled), rescue rope work and being able to operate in fast flowing water.
Within the group were two team members undergoing a practical assessment to advance from Flood first responders to Swift water technicians.
Of course none of this could be achieved without cake!!
