Team thrilled at recent “Queens Award for Voluntary Service”

The team received the fantastic news on June 2nd that they had been awarded the “Queens Award for Voluntary Services” Known as the MBE for volunteer groups. In a statement released to the press our Chairperson said:

 

“We are delighted that in our 20th year of operation, Sussex Search & Rescue has been recognised by the Queens Award for Voluntary Service. This award pays tribute to the unwavering dedication of our volunteer members past and present”

 

In the same statement our Patron, Chief Constable of Sussex Police, Jo Shiner, said:

 

” The volunteers of Sussex Search & Rescue provide a vital service to Sussex Police and the local community, in the search for vulnerable missing people. As Patron for the team, I would like to congratulate them on receiving this prestigious award and thank them for their dedication and professionalism.”
